Speaking
Cynthia’s speaking career began in high school when she won the District Extemporaneous Speaking Medal. The Valedictory address followed, as did speaking internationally as a Rotary Ambassador Scholar in graduate school, three to five times per week.
One of her most unique speaking experiences occurred when addressing a convention in England. Rotarians burst into song mid-speech, singing to her, “In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, on the trail of the lonesome pine….” as Cynthia shared her background growing up in the Shenandoah Valley.
Cynthia’s subsequent career with national and international organizations, and now as a speaking professional, has seen her invited and re-invited to speak globally on a variety of topics, professions, industries, and causes; conducting leadership and governance workshops; designing and facilitating board retreats and leading conventions. Cynthia is comfortable before audiences of thousands or in a room of five.
